Pressure sustaining valves are often used to maintain the primary pressure in a system. It also have a safety function that can protect the system against too high pressure. The setting is done using an adjustable spring to reach different pressure ranges and to relieve media if the pressure gets too high in a pipe. The excess fluid passes through the valve when the spring opens. It can be installed inline or on a bypass.
